Exciting series and a good story. Read well. Definitely getting the next book. I have enjoyed each book so far. What made the experience of listening to Brutal Asset the most enjoyable? As much as I like the world I feel its the characters that make this an enjoyable series. What was one of the most memorable moments of Brutal Asset?
The death a certain character came close to making me cry. How does this one compare? He has voice the last two books of the series as well as the remain books currently available. Was this a book you wanted to listen to all in one sitting? Any additional comments? This series only gets better with each book, any fan of urban fantasy should at the very least give this series a try. Most good books have a great main character and a few interesting secondary characters.
I find most of the secondary characters just as interesting as the main. Only complaint, I felt the story stalled a few times, especially Chris at school. Overall though, great narration and a great listen! This series is a great getaway series. Lots of action and humor.
Easy to follow storyline, likeable characters and plenty of characters to hate. I like that you don't have to read listen to 3 books to get some closure. I almost gave up after book 2 thinking it might be a wee bit too violent for me, but bought book 3 and I am glad I did. I find myself laughing out loud in public places and getting strange looks, but can't help myself. Overall a very enjoyable series. This is not literary award material and I don't think it's intended to be.
If you are looking for mind bending edge of your seat literature there are lots of other tittles from other authors! This is my third listen of the series and I'm getting attached to some of the characters. Some books are meant for reading others for listening. Conroe falls in this last category, fast moving urban phantasy, lots of action, a bit of romance, a dab of funny, a drop of technology, a smidgeon of gunplay, but above all: an easy listen First book was good, second slipped, third book has just gone too far.
I've seen stories done right with a superhuman person who grows gradually in power. That's not our hero.
